Peppery · Crisp · Vibrant

Radish China Rose microgreens bring together fresh green leaves, beautifully coloured stems and a lively peppery flavour. Crisp and full of character, they make an eye-catching finishing green for both simple everyday meals and more carefully plated dishes.

Their recognisable radish flavour adds freshness and a gentle kick without needing much else.

Flavour

Peppery · Fresh · Slightly spicy

China Rose has a distinctive radish flavour with a fresh, peppery finish. Its flavour is pronounced enough to add character while remaining versatile across many dishes.

Growing Level

Easy

Fast-growing and reliable, China Rose is a beginner-friendly variety that responds well to consistent moisture, good airflow and adequate light.

Growing Time

Approximately 7–10 days

Growing conditions such as temperature, light, airflow and watering can influence development. Use the appearance of the plants as your main guide when deciding when to harvest.

Soaking

No soaking required.

China Rose seeds can be sown directly onto a thoroughly moistened growing mat.

Germination

After sowing, keep the seeds covered and in darkness during the initial germination period.

Once germination is well established and the young shoots begin to lift, uncover the tray and move it into light.

Watering

Keep the growing mat consistently moist without allowing it to become waterlogged.

Once the roots are established, bottom watering is preferable. Add water to the reservoir tray below and allow the growing mat to absorb moisture from underneath.

Good airflow and balanced moisture help support strong, healthy growth.

Light

Once uncovered, place your China Rose microgreens in a bright location with good indirect natural light or beneath a suitable grow light.

Adequate light encourages compact growth and helps the leaves and colourful stems develop beautifully.

When to Harvest

China Rose microgreens are generally ready when the stems are well developed and the cotyledons are fully open.

Harvest just above the growing mat using clean scissors or a clean, sharp blade.

Best With

Eggs · Avocado · Salads · Sandwiches · Bowls · Fish · Sushi · Asian-inspired dishes

Their combination of colour and peppery flavour makes China Rose particularly beautiful as a fresh finishing green.

Storage

For the best quality, harvest only what you need whenever possible.

If storing harvested microgreens, make sure they are dry before placing them in a clean container in the refrigerator. Excess moisture can shorten their freshness.

Wash before eating and enjoy while fresh.

Good to Know

China Rose belongs to the Brassica family and is known for its attractive coloured stems as well as its characteristic radish flavour.

Fine white root hairs may appear around the roots during germination. These are a normal part of root development and can sometimes be mistaken for mould.

Why Grow China Rose?

China Rose is a beautiful choice when you want your microgreens to bring both flavour and visual interest to the plate. Its colourful stems, fresh leaves and peppery bite can turn even a very simple meal into something a little more special.

Grow it. Cut it fresh. Add colour to the everyday.
