Pac Choi White

Everything you need to know about growing, harvesting and enjoying Pac Choi White microgreens at home.

Mild · Fresh · Crisp

Pac Choi White microgreens are tender, fresh and delicately crisp, with a gentle brassica flavour that makes them wonderfully easy to use. Their fresh green leaves and light stems bring a clean, subtle character to everyday dishes without overpowering other ingredients.

Versatile and approachable, they are especially lovely with Asian-inspired meals, bowls, eggs and fresh salads.

Flavour

Mild · Fresh · Slightly sweet

Pac Choi White has a clean, delicate flavour with subtle cabbage-like notes and a gentle sweetness. It is considerably milder than mustard or radish microgreens.

Growing Level

Easy

Pac Choi White is a beginner-friendly variety that grows reliably with consistent moisture, good airflow and adequate light.

Growing Time

Approximately 8–12 days

Growing conditions such as temperature, light, airflow and watering can influence development. Use the appearance and tenderness of your microgreens as your main guide when deciding when to harvest.

Soaking

No soaking required.

Pac Choi White seeds can be sown directly onto a thoroughly moistened growing mat.

Germination

After sowing, keep the seeds covered and in darkness during the initial germination period.

Once the seeds have germinated and the young shoots are established, uncover the tray and move it into light.

Watering

Keep the growing mat consistently moist without allowing it to become waterlogged.

Once the roots are established, bottom watering is preferable. Add water to the reservoir tray below and allow the growing mat to absorb moisture from underneath.

Good airflow and balanced moisture help encourage healthy, even growth.

Light

Once uncovered, place your Pac Choi White microgreens in a bright location with good indirect natural light or beneath a suitable grow light.

Adequate light encourages compact growth and helps the leaves develop their fresh green colour.

When to Harvest

Pac Choi White microgreens are generally ready when the stems are well developed and the cotyledons are fully open and green.

Harvest just above the growing mat using clean scissors or a clean, sharp blade.

Best With

Eggs · Salads · Bowls · Noodles · Rice dishes · Fish · Stir-fries · Asian-inspired dishes

Their mild flavour makes them easy to use generously. Add them after cooking whenever possible to preserve their fresh texture.

Storage

For the best quality, harvest only what you need whenever possible.

If storing harvested microgreens, make sure they are dry before placing them in a clean container in the refrigerator. Excess moisture can shorten their freshness.

Wash before eating and enjoy while fresh.

Good to Know

Pac Choi belongs to the Brassica family and is closely related to other Asian greens such as Tatsoi.

As a microgreen, its flavour is much more delicate than the mature vegetable, making it a particularly versatile choice.

Why Grow Pac Choi White?

Pac Choi White is beautifully simple — mild, fresh and easy to pair with almost anything. Its tender young greens bring an effortless touch of freshness to everyday food.

Grow it. Cut it fresh. Keep it simple.
